Learn Purse-Making with a Kiss-Lock Frame from Alex Byrne

Saturday, April 27th, 2019 @ 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

One workshop … two customized purses!

Alex introduces you to purse-making basics by providing a pattern, a 6-inch frame, and the technique to follow with your choice of fabric. After you’ve completed Purse #1, she’ll discuss how to make your own pattern for frames of any shape or size. Then you’ll make Purse #2, using either the pattern provided or one of your own design.

Once you get the hang of it, you’ll find yourself wanting to make purses, eyeglass cases, make-up bags and more. With a huge variety of frames available in every shape, size and color, these bags make perfect gifts because you can customize every detail!

The class fee is $10, payable in advance at guild meetings to Sewcial chair Mary Whalen. A $15 materials fee is payable to Alex at the workshop and covers frames in two sizes, lining materials for your purses, paper patterns, and glue, plus the all-important “poking stick.”

Questions should be directed to Mary Whalen; her contact info is in the Membership Directory.
